Good morning fashionistas!
I’m up early this Sunday morning resounding with joy! Jason Wu’s line for Target is officially available for purchase in stores! If you didn’t brave the crowds this morning, I suggest you act quickly. With all of the media hype surrounding the line, I suspect stores will sell out quickly, as they did with the Missoni for Target collection last year.
I personally experienced a fashion 911 as I entered my local Target to (finally) get my hands on a few of Wu’s works of art. A mob had immediately formed around the few racks holding Wu’s pieces, and within a matter of seconds all of the items were snatched off the stands before I could grab anything. In utter desperation, I called my mother and informed her of the crisis I was facing. She rushed to the Target in her hometown and was able to secure the pieces I had been daydreaming about for weeks now. I’m so grateful to have a mother who shares my passion for fashion!
Now let’s talk about the pieces I (well, my mother) purchased:
This gorgeous robin’s egg blue cardigan is an excellent staple for your spring wardrobe. It can be worn with a dress and belted to created a cinched-waist look (as styled in the picture), or with a great pair of colored skinny jeans and a flirty spring top.
This scarf is the perfect accessory to pair with the sweater pictured above. It adds an element of chicness and sophistication to the ensemble. I plan on styling it with the cardigan and a pair of pastel yellow skinny jeans to create a trendy, color-blocked look.
Floral prints are all the rage right now on the spring runway. Although this outfit looks like a dress, it is actually two separate pieces. I purchased the top only, but the skirt is equally adorable.
Pleated and pink, this dress is absolutely darling. The great thing about this piece is that it can be worn right now with a pair of black tights and a black cardigan thrown over it.
This button-down, blush colored blouse is both whimsical and elegant. It can be worn to work with a pair of office appropriate slacks, or to a dinner date with a lace-printed skirt (as styled in the picture).
My final purchase was this ballet pink and black top. It is a piece that looks both classy and comfortable. I imagine Audrey Hepburn, my style icon, wearing something like this paired with cropped slack and ballet flats.
And there you have it glamour girls! If you already visited your local Target to be a part of the Jason Wu madness, I hope you got everything you were looking for. If not, check on Target’s website before they sell out. Only use eBay as a last resort; their prices are apparently marked up 250% according to fashionista.com
